‘New’ Boracay’s dos and don’ts
Tourist island Boracay was closed for six months for rehabilitation as the renowned beach destination grappled with sewage woes, overcrowding, and haphazard development.
Once the island reopens in the third week of October, after phase 1 of its rehabilitation, officials vowed to implement new rules to preserve what they promised to be a more pristine and pleasurable island for everyone to enjoy.
Sadly, it was something that had to happen, as health issues were becoming important. Our President Mr. Duterte, had the gumption to say ” enough, is enough ” and closed Boracay Island on the 24th April 2018 for a huge upgrade and cleanup.
Today, after nearly 6 months of restructuring and cleaning, Boracay Island shines brightly again, as a glorious and beautiful Tropical Paradise. Now it is up to us, the travelers and locals to ensure it stays the #1 choice of many beach-loving dwellers. Voted many times as the best beach in the world, we again have to prove it is and look after what nature has so kindly given the Philippines.
Thanks to all those people with worker’s assistance, who endured and made Boracay beautiful again!
Here are some of the new regulations to be enforced on Boracay, as of the 15th of October 2018.
